POSITION SUMMARY: 

The major function of this role is to provide the Buyer/ MM with accurate and thorough recaps to better aid product and inventory decisions. They will be responsible for creating and managing all selling, product, and on order recaps which will be used by the Executive team.   The position is an integral part of the department and will coordinate across all cross functional team members. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Support the Womens Merchant team in achieving and/or exceeding departmental financial plans
  • Help to prepare all necessary documents and resources for major Milestone Meetings, including Hindsight, Buy Review, and Product Reviews
  • Data integrity is paramount in the management for daily merchandising responsibilities, including: building, maintaining, and dispersing: on order recap, weekly/monthly/seasonal selling recaps, editing and maintaining assortment sheets, reconciling and updating receipts, updating Visulon (product) boards to ensure data flows seamlessly
  • Owner of seasonal data entry for style creation and responsible for 3rd party purchase order creation
  • Sample management: maintaining sample accuracy and handoff
  • Learn to analyze business results in partnership with manager in preparation for weekly CFT.  Develop the ability to draw top line conclusions and actions from analysis
  • Demonstrate and communicate awareness of retail landscape; Conduct research on competitive set including pricing, style, and key messaging information
  • Support team in line build/assorting process by preparing all necessary documents i.e. Visulon, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Build relationships with cross-functional partners and participate as a solution-oriented team member, contributing to a high performing team
  • Act as the liaison for cross-category special projects, including assisting with seasonal marketing requests
  • Omni experience a plus including data integrity checks, staging and site activation

QUALIFICATIONS :

     Experience:            

  • 1+ years of related experience in Merchandising/Buying/Retail ideal

      

Education:    

  • College degree; Merchandising degree, a plus

Skills: 

  • Strong to proficient computer skills (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); ability to learn systems
  • Ability to think analytically and an understanding of retail math
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a highly collaborative environment
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Be a positive, flexible, team player- Work independently as needed and have strong self-initiative, prioritization, multi task and time management skills
  • Detail oriented, with excellent follow-through skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree; fashion-related major or strong interest in retail preferred
  • Ability to lift or move at least 30 lbs for sample management and participate in possible store visits/ floor sets

DECISION MAKING: 

  • Work is reviewed on completion for adherence to objectives, deadlines and technical soundness
  • Manager is available for general guidance
  • Work independently and guided on special projects

RESOURCEFULNESS/CREATIVITY: 

  • Must be able to handle multiple projects with adherence to deadlines
  • Must be highly organized
  • Must be able to work independently as well as on group projects
  • Must be self-motivated and confident with decision making
  • Must be able to communicate well with peers and upper management

ENVIRONMENT:   

  • Requires maintenance of sample areas. This includes lifting boxes
  • Establish collaborative relationships with planning/distribution and marketing to understand the complete product life cycle and ensure timely delivery and availability of product

Pay Range:
$51,500 - $70,000
