The buyer is
responsible for the smooth operation of materials purchasing for specified
departments within the KyOne network. 
He/she will interact with both vendors and internal customers to insure
smooth ordering and delivery of materials. 
This person is required to work with Materials Management and Accounts
Payable to resolve issues associated with specific orders that arise from time
to time. 

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:


 

1.    
Process
purchase orders for special items (w/o Lawson numbers) using PO23

2.    
Monitor and
resolve GHX issues on a daily Basis

3.    
Monitor and
resolve PO 50 issues on a daily basis

4.    
Monitor and
resolve MA64 issues on a daily basis

5.    
Monitor and
resolve issues on the MA54 discrepancy report on a daily basis

6.    
Verify and
update pricing as needed with vendors and in system

7.    
Identify
potential cost savings opportunities on purchased products through potential
negotiation and standardization

8.    
Minimize
freight cost associated with orders placed

9.    
Monitor and
communicate back order situations to internal customers

10. 
Work with
Accounts Payable and Materials Management to resolve issues that prevent
matching and payment of invoices

11. 
Monitor and
utilize HPG contracts when and where appropriate in all purchasing transactions

12. 
Communicate
with MMIS and/or AP appropriate changes associated with price, delivery,
contact, etc to insure vendor information is maintained and up to date

13. 
Work with
Materials Management to process recalls in a timely fashion

14. 
Communicate
recall information to the appropriate clinical areas in a timely manner

15. 
Support item
conversion initiatives by updating workbooks and all associated administrative
tasks in a timely fashion as assigned

16. 
Work with
contract administrator to identify potential contract opportunities for KyOne

17. 
Other duties as

','!*!MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 2 years of experience
in transactional purchasing role issuing processing and resolving customer
service situations associated with the processing of purchase orders.

 

Education:

An associate’s degree in
purchasing, business, accounting or equivalent is required.  A BA/BS is preferred along with certifications
in purchasing or supply chain related functions such as Certified Material
Resource Professional or similar.

 

Required Experience: 


The successful candidate will have
experience in a healthcare or similar industry purchasing role.  Background will include processing of
purchase orders, resolution of PO matching
issues, interaction with internal customers to resolve issues, contract
review/interpretation and interaction with vendors in resolving issues.  Candidate should have strong interpersonal,
organizational and computer skills.

 

Licensure:  None

 

Skills:  Writing, Microsoft
Office Suite Software, excellent interpersonal skills.  Knowledge of Lawson and/or GHX is a plus but
not required.
