SNELLING STAFFING HAS AN IMMEDIATE DIRECT HIRE OPENING FOR A BUYER / PLANNER AT OUR NON-AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTION AND WAREHOUSING CLIENT LOCATED IN WARREN
$55-65k, DIRECT HIRE
The Buyer / Planner will be responsible for:
the planning, forecasting, and purchasing of hard goods and raw materials to ensure that customer demand is met on time and is of high quality. This position will take the lead for their assigned categories with emphasis on managing supplier capacity, ensuring an appropriate flow of FG and RM inventory, confirming supplier price competitiveness, and maintaining satisfactory levels of inventory based on the needs of the business. This position will have heavy interaction with internal disciplines including Customer Service, Finance, Warehouse, Product Development/Management, Manufacturing, other regions, and our parent company.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and utilize Sales & Operations Planning Calendar based on the requirements of the Business Units and vendor lead times in order to maintain On Time Delivery objectives and support customer demand.
Manage inventory to achieve >2.5 annual turns.
Setup and facilitate buy meetings with sales management in line with S&OP to develop supply strategies and make the appropriate purchases to support upcoming demand.
Forecast seasonal hard goods and raw material requirements to suppliers and manufacturing.
Create and issue PO’s to supply base and Work Orders to internal factories.
Forecast/schedule deliveries based on S&OP.
Closely manage purchase receipts against budget and MTO/MTS ratios.
Reconciliation of invoices, purchase receipts, and supplier issues.
Lead/Support the implementation of processes to streamline purchasing activities.
Lead/Support sourcing strategy for specific assigned hard goods categories together with the business units.
Support vendor pricing development with Product Managers and Developers.
Support Company Margin objectives via FOB and Standard reductions.
High level of interaction and reporting with Sr. Management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management
1-2 years experience in related field
Experienced in material planning/forecasting
Experience in managing supplier relationships.
Comprehensive supply chain understanding.
Must be very detail oriented.
Must have good communication and problem solving skills.
Strong inventory management experience
Experience with Microsoft Suite of products including Word, PowerPoint, and proficiency in Excel.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
